There are many levels of study available depending on whether you're just starting out or are currently working in a hair or beauty setting and want to increase your skillset

Beauty Therapy and Treatments NC Level 5

The NC Beauty Level 5 course will teach you all the basics and give you the hands-on experience required to kickstart your career. You will learn how to practice essential beauty treatments, such as makeup application, facial skincare, nail care, lash treatments, waxing and massage, whilst also gaining an understanding of the science behind the practices.  

You'll spend most of your time in our college salon working with real clients, and learning from experienced lecturers, who have industry expertise as makeup artists and salon owners. You'll have the opportunity to visit local businesses to observe the daily operations of salons and spas first-hand, and gain valuable insight into the professional world.

Beauty Care NC Level 6

The beauty industry is perfect for outgoing and creative individuals. Growing year on year, with a variety of new and exciting treatments, the industry has an ever-expanding clientele.

Ideal for those who have progressed from Level 5 NC Beauty Care and Makeup, this course will build upon the foundation developed and focus on the practical skills required by local industry and clientele. It will include beauty and nail treatments, spa therapies and wellness therapies.

Hairdressing NC Level 5

You'll gain the basic knowledge and experience of working in a commercial hairdressing salon, this qualification is assessed in the workplace and/or a realistic work environment.

Students must work in a professional manner taking into account establishment requirements such as appearance and dress code, personal conduct, personal hygiene, reliability and punctuality.

Hairdressing NC Level 6

Following on on from the SVQ at SCFQ level 5, this course introduces you to more advanced cutting and colouring techniques. You'll undertake client consultations with less supervision and can work on the salon floor independently while having the opportunity to enhance your skills.

You may choose to study this course full time, or if in employment by work-based learning and attend college for the theory parts of the course.
