Business HNC

The HNC Business will give you an excellent introduction to a wide range of business and management skills.

You will gain a broad spectrum of skills that are highly sought-after by employers, including: marketing, communication, IT, business accounting, business law, customer care and people management.

Computing with Digital Media NC

This course is suitable for school leavers or other young people looking to improve their skills in computing, digital media, web development, networking or computer games. It may also be attractive if you are a mature student wishing to change career direction or return to full-time study.

There are opportunities to study any of the component units on a part-time basis.

Digital Design and Web Development HNC

If you are interested in a career in the computing and new media industry, the HNC Interactive Media will equip you with the necessary knowledge and skills to achieve your ambitions.

The term Interactive Media defines a collection of disparate technologies which provide a user experience using digital platforms. These range from websites, mobile apps, software applications and even interactive installations. Digital content creation goes hand-in-hand with an understanding of interactive media and disciplines such as graphic design, animation, video and audio production all form part of the subject area.

Locations: All centres, although you will be required to attend Lochgilphead centre one day per week.

Digital Design and Web Development HND

If you are interested in a career in the new interactive media industry, the HND Interactive Media will equip you with the necessary knowledge and skills to achieve your ambitions.The course has been designed to meet the growing needs of the creative industries and hnc-digital-design-and-web-developmentdigital media sector giving you an up-to-date recognised qualification.

The term 'interactive media' defines a collection of disparate technologies which provide a user experience using digital platforms. This course will give you the opportunity to study numerous technologies and techniques used in the interactive media industry including subjects in 2D and 3D animation, sound and video, web and mobile app development, as well as advanced digital imaging techniques.

You will also undertake the design, planning and management of interactive media projects with real clients.

Locations: All centres, although you will be required to attend Lochgilphead centre one day per week.

Computing HNC

The HNC Computing will provide you with useful foundations for a successful career in computing and technology.

It is a broad-based course which will introduce you to, and develop your knowledge of, aspects of software development, technical support, networking and web development.

Computer Science HND

The HND Computer Science course has been designed to meet the growing needs of IT and computing related sectors, giving you an up-to-date, recognised qualification within the context of an ever-changing employment market.

The range of optional subjects available will allow you to focus on different aspects, perhaps where there is a local demand for particular skills. The inclusion of subjects as cloud computing, convergence technologies, network technology and advanced software development will ensure that your qualification is relevant for the 21st century.

On successful completion you will be able to demonstrate competency in a wide range of related skills such as design and implementation of applications including database design, website design and support, mobile application development and technical support.
