Salary range Salary for this post will be on the appropriate scale of the national pay scales for college lecturers, which start at £41,838 (pro rata wef 1/9/25).

Are you passionate about early years and childcare provision? We're seeking a dedicated and inspiring Lecturer to join our team at UHI Argyll.  Your role would be working with pupils at Dunoon Grammar School to achieve early learning and childcare qualifications which will start them on their journey as the next generation of childcare professionals. Whether you’ve worked in nurseries, primary education, or wider child development services, your real-world experience is invaluable in informing the learning experience. This role involves delivering high-quality learning, supporting students’ development, and contributing to a vibrant teaching environment.

Starting as soon as possible, teaching will be based in Dunoon Grammar School.  Initially 12 hours per week in term time including 8 hours student contact time spread over Monday to Thursday, as follows:

Monday              10:50 – 12:30 & 14:05 – 15:45

Tuesday              12:30 – 13:20

Wednesday        10:50 – 11:40 & 14:05 -15:45

Thursday             9:00 – 9:55 & 13:45-14:40

What You'll Bring

  • Industry experience in early learning and childcare
  • Relevant teaching qualification or willingness to work toward one
  • Commitment to inclusive, learner-centred education
  • Ability to adapt and engage with diverse learning styles
  • Educated to HN or SVQ 3 level or above in the relevant subject and ideally have some teaching experience.
