Lecturer – Gaelic

Salary range Salary for this post will be on the appropriate scale of the national pay scales for college lecturers, which start at £41,838 (pro rata).

We are seeking a Gaelic Lecturer 0.1 FTE to deliver a range of certificated Gaelic courses to people in Argyll, starting 20th October 2025.

Classes will run on a Wednesday Evening from 6pm to 8:30pm

You will be expected to develop any materials required for the teaching of these units and for these learning and teaching materials to be stored within college technology systems.

You should ideally be a native Gaelic speaker or will be qualified to level 3 or equivalent in a relevant field of study. You should have previous and/or current Gaelic language focused professional/industry experience and be willing to work towards a recognised teaching qualification such as TQFE.

In addition, you should have: Experience in teaching and assessing, including previous delivery of Gaelic language programmes to SCQF level 5;

The ability to utilise and develop relevant VLE based materials

If you do not already hold an appropriate teaching qualification or have significant teaching experience, you will be supported into this role as part of the induction process.
