Rothesay Pupils Bake Up a Storm!

The Skills for Work Childcare students at our Rothesay centre raised more than £100 in their recent bake sale at Rothesay Academy for The Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.

Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity funds enhanced equipment and services at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow to ensure that all their young patients receive the best possible care and experience.

The students will attend a visit to the Royal Hospital for Children in April to see first-hand how the money that they have raised is spent in supporting sick children and their families. The visit will also give the students an insight into other childcare and education related careers in the medical field, demonstrating the varied options and pathways available within the childcare sector.

Their tutor, Laura Maxwell, felt that it was important to give the students opportunities to see different careers that they may have never even heard of. Laura said, “I find that the students really enjoy the trip as it allows them to see facilities and careers that they might not normally be exposed to in their local community”.

A massive well done to our students!
