Students from the N5 Skills for Work Hospitality course have been busy over the last few weeks.

Following a winter theme inspired by the Scandanavian art of 'Hygge' they cooked some batches of various treats to cater for visitors to Islay's annual Book Festival. Feedback was extremely positive, the only complaint being that twice the amount of goodies would have disappeared just as quickly!

On their return to class, students were delighted (and relieved) to find that everyone had passed their food hygiene qualification. Shiny new certificates were waiting, an encouraging and motivating start to the first term.

In the following weeks they have planned a New York brunch style menu, experimented with soup and pastries and prepared for a mock interview for a hospitality sector job.
