Anthony Nolan charity event

On Wednesday the 21st of March our 1st Year Carpentry and Joinery students attended an Anthony Nolan charity event at Lochgilphead Joint Campus.  The event was organised by 6th year students Romy MacPherson and Alix Nelson, to help lengthen the donor register.

Anthony Nolan is a UK based charity that aims to help the lives of those with blood cancer through the use of stem cells. Those who sign up to be donors are added to a register where they could be a potential match for someone who needs a lifesaving transplant.

The process of signing up is incredibly easy, all you need to do is fill out a form to make sure you are eligible and give a salvia sample which is taken by rubbing cotton bud off the inside of your cheek.
