Guest Speaker Ryan McCuaig

We were honoured to be joined by Ryan McCuaig, a litigation lawyer at one of the largest commercial law firms in Scotland.

Ryan was born and raised in Easterhouse, Glasgow, one of the UK’s most deprived areas. After experiencing social work intervention early in his childhood due to parental addiction and poverty, Ryan overcame significant personal, financial and social barriers, including school exclusion, to graduate from the University of Strathclyde with a first-class law degree in 2018.

He subsequently completed a post-graduate diploma at the University of Glasgow, for which he was awarded the Post Graduate Talent Scholarship, and qualified as a solicitor in 2021.

Alongside his legal work, Ryan chairs the board of ‘Who Cares?’ Scotland, the national membership and advocacy charity for people who were taken into care as children.
