Introduction to Beauty SCQF Level 5
What is special about this course?
This course will enable you to develop confidence in carrying out practical beauty treatments and allow you to develop a range of basic skills to get your career in the beauty industry underway.
You’ll get a practical introduction to some of the skills required in beauty salons, spas and wellness centres.
This introductory course will allow you to progress to our Level 5 Beauty Care and Make-Up course in January 2024.
Entry requirements
There are no formal entry requirements, and this course is ideal for both school leavers and mature students returning to education.
- Facial skin care and Make Up
During this unit you will learn to identify skin types and decide on the most appropriate products. You will complete a basic cleanse, tone, and moisturise treatment and carry out a basic make-up application.
- Manicure and Creative Nail Finishes
An introduction to manicure skills, polish application and creative nail finishes.
- Massage Techniques
An introduction to practical massage techniques.
- Contemporary eye treatments
An introduction to the variety of eye treatments available within the industry, where you will begin to develop skills in eyebrow waxing and semi-permanent single eyelash extensions.
Equipment
All students will be supplied with a tunic.
All necessary products/equipment will be supplied by the college.
