What is special about this course?

This course will give you real world practical skills to help you understand the challenges and expectations of starting and growing your own business. You'll get to understand the steps involved and learn how to organise yourself to take your start up ideas further. 

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements but you should have a keen interest in business and/or entrepreneurship.

Personal Development: Self and Work  -  develop task management and organisational skills in a project format. 

Enterprise Skills -  an enterprise activity to help you develop entrepreneurial skills.

Local Investigations - a project undertaken in the community where you'll investigate and understand a local activity 

Community Involvement - examine a community business and get involved with the enterprise and then evaluate it.  

How will I study my course?

  • Part Time

Depending on your location you will either study in school or at your local Argyll College centre. This course will be delivered in our live online classroom.

Fees

This course consists of 7 SQA units and costs £602.

If you are in receipt of certain benefits or on a low income may receive a fee waiver. Please refer to page 2 of our Fees and Funding Guide to see if you are eligible. You can download a FEE WAIVER FORM here.  If you would like help or advice on fee waiver, please contact your nearest learning centre.

If you do not qualify for a fee waiver, you may be able to apply for an Individual Training Account (ITA) to cover up to £200 the cost of this course.

This course is not available to students who require a Tier 4 Home Office visa to study in Scotland (international or EU)
