Modern Social Media Skills SCQF Level 4

What is special about this course?

If you’d like to gain an understanding of the different types of social media and the skills and challenges of developing a social media presence this course is for you.
Keep up with your kids, learn how to keep safe online, and learn how to get the most out of social media.
The course includes a basic introduction to video creation and will explore ways to develop interesting content.
 

Entry requirements

There are no academic entry requirements. 

Learn about the different types and uses of social media, how to create a social media presence, how to create a positive digital footprint and how to stay safe online.

Social media can be stressful, so you will explore and identify mental wellbeing and ways to support positive mental health. You will learn how to be resilient and how to use and coping strategies.

You will learn how to plan, prepare, create and evaluate digital video content.
 

Equipment

You'll need a computer (with webcam and microphone) or laptop. Most centres will have laptops which you can borrow to join your class, please contact us for advice.

How will I study my course?

  • Part Time

Classes will be delivered online where you'll join with your lecturer and other students in our virtual learning environment. Join from home or in any of our learning centres.
