Covering areas such as team leadership, control of resources, and workplace health and safety, the Hospitality Supervision and Leadership SCQF Level 7 Modern Apprenticeship is ideal for employees looking to develop their management skills within a hospitality setting.
By combining work and study, candidates gain a recognised qualification by building a portfolio of evidence showcasing their competency in the different work activity they undertake, developing knowledge skills and expertise required by this fast-paced industry.

Entry requirements
No prior qualifications are required to undertake this qualification; however, candidates must be in a suitable job role, where they are carrying out relevant tasks and responsibilities, which allow them to gather the required evidence, and have been so for a minimum of 12 weeks prior to commencing the qualification.
This Modern Apprenticeship framework is developed by the Sector Skills Council in consultation with employers and key partners in the industry.
The Modern Apprenticeship is made up of 4 elements:
- SVQ in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership SCQF Level 7
- Core Skills
- Meta Skills
- Mandatory Enhancement (e.g. Emergency First Aid at Work, Basic Food Hygiene)
Candidates must complete 8 units in total – 4 mandatory and 4 optional.
The 4 mandatory units are:
- Provide Leadership for Your Team
- Develop Productive Working Relationships with Colleagues
- Contribute to the Control of Resources
- Maintain the Health, Hygiene, Safety and Security for the Working Environment
You will engage in practical learning experiences within the workplace, where you'll create evidence-based submissions for your e-portfolio. Additionally, a college assessor will visit to conduct observations to further evaluate your skills and progress.
