Modern Apprenticeship: Business and Administration SCQF Level 5

Equip yourself with essential skills, knowledge, and real-word experience in business and administration roles, adaptable for any sector. This work-based Modern Apprenticeship provides candidates with the opportunity to showcase their competency in vital skills every business needs. No day release required, making it convenient for both employers and apprentices.
Entry requirements
Candidates should be in paid employment in a role relevant for the pathway selected where they are carrying out relevant tasks and responisibities which allow them to gather the required evidence.
No prior qualifications are required to undertake this qualification. Candidates must have been in the role they wish to undertake the apprenticeship in for a minimum of 12 weeks prior to commencing the qualification, and be contracted to work a minimum of 21 hours a week.
The Modern Apprenticeship is made up of 4 elements:
- SVQ in Business and Administration SCQF Level 5
- Core Skills
- Meta Skills
- Mandatory Enhancement (additional unit)
There are 3 manadatory units:
- Agree how to manage and improve own performance in a business environment
- Undertake work in a business environment
- Prepare to communicate in a business environment
Additional optional units will be selected by candidate and employer, supported by assessor. The qualification is flexible to be built around each individual candidate, their job role, and business.
You will engage in practical learning experiences within the workplace, where you'll create evidence-based submissions for your e-portfolio. Additionally, a college assessor will visit to conduct observations to further evaluate your skills and progress.

Fees
Social Services, Families and Young People. Wednesdays 9.00-4.00pm consists of 3 SQA units and costs £258.
Care of Children Thursdays 9.00-1.00pm consists of 2 SQA units and costs £172
If you are on a low income or in receipt of certain benefits may receive a fee waiver. Please refer to page 2 of our Fees and Funding Guide to see if you are eligible. You can download a FEE WAIVER FORM here. If you would like help or advice on fee waiver, please contact your nearest learning centre.
If you do not qualify for a fee waiver, you may be able to apply for an Individual Training Account (ITA) to cover up to £200 the cost of this course.
This course is not available to students who require a Tier 4 Home Office visa to study in Scotland (international or EU).
