Argyll College UHI offer further and higher education in one of the most geographically fragmented areas of Scotland. We are an academic partner of The University of the Highlands and Islands. The university operates through a partnership of twelve colleges and research institutions, located throughout Argyll, the Highlands and Islands, Moray and Perthshire.
To support our work we are recruiting to the following role:

Argyll College UHI has an immediate vacancy for a Board Secretary in order to support the work of its Board of Governors during an exciting time in its development. Working closely with the Chair and the Executive Team, you will support the Governors in their strategic leadership function and the exercise of good governance.
More widely, you will also support the college in its approach to information governance and help to shape the management of data protection and freedom of information functions.
You will manage the Board Member recruitment and induction process including ongoing training and development of Board Members, and attending and supporting Board meetings including the preparation and circulation of minutes and other relevant papers whilst providing guidance on all aspects of college governance.
You will be an efficient administrator with good communication skills. Whilst experience of boards and governance settings is preferred, training will be provided to the right candidate.
