Under 3

3mths – 3yrs

We provide a quiet area for sleeping, feeding and nappy changing and a room offering fun activities.  This will allow your child to explore their world through touch, sight, sound, taste, smell and movement.   Brightly coloured toys, natural materials and mirrors will be used to help your child develop the use of their senses and physical abilities.

In the baby and toddler rooms, we provide the highest standards of care.  We believe that most of all your child’s happiness and emotional security is vital to help with the smooth transition from home to nursery life.  So lots of time will be given to help support this.  There will be time for cosy chats in the quiet area, reading favourite stories, songs and rhymes.  Parents are more than welcome to pop in at any time to see how their child is getting on, particularly during the settling in period.

Our dedicated team of staff will help both you and your baby/toddler settle into nursery life.  Your baby/toddler will have individual information sheets that will be given to you to tell you about their day i.e. sleep times, bottle feeds, meals/snacks, nappy changes and all the other exciting things they have enjoyed.  Staff will be available to chat to you about your child’s day, their progress and development.

The ethos of these rooms is based on the 4 key principals of the document “Pre Birth to Three, Supporting our Youngest Children”, which are the rights of the child, respect, relationships and responsive care.

From the main Playroom there is a door leading to the outdoor area.  This is a grassed and soft surfaced area which means that the children can have access to outdoor play all year round. There are planting areas so that the children can learn to grow and tend to flowers and vegetables.

Little Learners’ Nursery is situated in a beautiful location close to Dunstaffnage Castle. There are lovely beaches and wonderful surroundings for the children to explore and investigate.  The nursery staff use the outdoor location as an extension of the playroom, using the environment to provide rich opportunities and experiences for the children of all ages. Little Learners’ believes most of all the outdoor area offers children rich opportunities to learn and develop.
