Want to help secure a skilled and local workforce in Argyll?

Argyll College Board members

Board Members
We are looking for 3 people to join the Board of Management of Argyll College (UHI) Ltd in a non-executive capacity. You should have a strong commitment to, and an understanding of, the value of education and the future economic prosperity of Argyll. As a Company director and charity trustee of the College, you will be part of board during a period of change and opportunity for Argyll and the future of further and higher education in the region. Board members are responsible for the leadership, management and strategic direction of the College and its provision across 10 Learning Centres.

Argyll College is a full partner of the University of the Highlands &  Islands. We are particularly seeking members with experience as local employers or with experience in higher education or further education, or more generally with expertise in any of the following: commercial business, financial management, human resources or marketing.  During the first year of appointment it is anticipated you may need to devote an average of 1 - 1.5 days per month. The Board meets quarterly during the day in addition to quarterly meetings of several sub-committees of the Board.

These positions are not remunerated; however, reasonable expenses may be claimed.

If you think you might be interested and would like to find out more, please contact Andrew Campbell, Chair of the Board, for an informal chat. We can also arrange for you to visit the college and attend a meeting to get an idea of what’s involved. Andrew can be reached via email: andrew.m.g.campbell@uhi.ac.uk or by phone on 07935 229662.  Otherwise, we would be happy to receive a brief CV via email containing details of why you think you would be a good addition to our Board. Please email the Secretary to the Board: fiona.fenn.smith@uhi.ac.uk. Closing date is 23rd October. We plan to conduct interviews on 10th and/or 17th November 2017.
