Entry requirements
This course is designed for students who are interested in working in the Care industry. Students must be 17 years of age at the start of the course.
Category 1 PVG course: PVG Scheme membership is required to successfully achieve target qualification, where there is guaranteed contact with vulnerable groups in key elements of the course. For further information visit this webpage.

How will I study my course?
- Full Time
This course is delivered face-to-face class in a virtual classroom environment. You will be expected to attend timetabled classes and it is likely that in 2022 you will be asked to join from home. If you think you may not have equipment or connectivity to enable this, please speak to us and we will do our best to help you overcome any barriers.
How long will my course last?
12 WeeksCompletion of the course will require the student to attend College 3 days per week

What can I do on completion of my course?
Students can then progress to the SVQ 2 Social Services and Healthcare qualification when in employment, to allow them to register as a care assistant with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
