Introduction to Hair and Beauty SCQF Level 3

What is special about this course?

This course will interest you if you enjoy using your creative ideas in a practical way. You should also like working with other people and discussing how best to produce the looks you want to achieve. You should be prepared to participate as a model for fellow students which will require you to have your own make-up removed.

You will learn about procedures for safe storage, handling and disposal of products used, and investigate health and safety in the salon. You’ll improve communication and listening skills; learn to create a good impression with customers and to deal with customers’ needs effectively.
Part of the course will focus on Personal grooming expectations regarding hair, nails, skincare, makeup and personal hygiene.  You will also improve employability skills such as time management, punctuality, professional conduct, organisational skills, housekeeping and client focus.

How will I study my course?

  • Part Time

You’ll work in a replicated salon environment and practical lessons will play a key part of the course.  You will work on research tasks and leaflet design, both individually and as part of a team.
