What is special about this course?

This is a brand new Level 5 course for anyone wishing to embark on a career in Business, Marketing or Enterprise. 

Designed for the modern work environment, this course will give you an excellent grounding in information technologies, business and marketing approaches, social media and event organisation. 

You will also develop important employability skills, crucial for all relevant career options. 

This course is made up of four group awards. If you choose to study full-time you will achieve all four awards. There may be an opportunity for you to study the awards individually if you choose to study part-time. 

  • Digital Passport NPA

This award covers the basics of using data in the workplace, how to do presentations, and understanding social media. 

  • Enterprise and Employability NPA

This award will develop your employability skills through studying units such as customer care, working with others, enterprise skills and personal development. 

  • Business with Information Technology

This award will teach you the basic principles of business. You will develop your skills and knowledge of working with spreadsheets and word processing.

  • Business and Marketing NPA

This award will introduce you to the current practices within Business and Marketing, covering topics such as management of people and finance, marketing operations, promoting a business, and event organisation. 

How will I study my course?

  • Full Time
  • Part Time

Your course will generally be a mix of local centre-based learning time, and flexible learning time. You need to commit to both, but you can choose when to complete flexible learning to fit around work, caring and personal commitments. 

You will attend your local centre to learn together with your lecturers and fellow classmates in an online classroom. As well as having fellow students with you in your local centre, you may also connect with students in our other locations.

Our courses include a combination of video conferencing (like a Zoom call), interactive chat and sharing of presentation slides and other visuals. Online-classrooms provide you with real time interaction, contact and discussion with your lecturer and fellow students, so it’s a much richer experience than purely online learning.

In 2023-24, we fully expect the centre-based aspect of all our courses to be taught in our learning centres.

What can I do on completion of my course?

When you’ve successfully completed this course, you can move on to study Level 6 Business courses and potentially study at a higher level later on, with courses such as:

  • HNC Administration and Information Technology  
  • HNC Business 
  • BA Event Management (following HNC) 

This qualification could be your start to a successful career in many business sectors.
