What is special about this course?
This NC Music course is designed to help develop your instrumental technique and live music performance skills as well as basic music theory skills. You’ll record and perform live music and learn how best to promote yourself or your band. Whether you are planning a career in the music industry, enjoy creating music and performing, or want to experience time spent developing your craft with other musicians this is the course for you.
There are no formal entry requirements although applicants will need to have a level on their specialist instrument equivalent to Grade 3 (Trinity College Grade 3).
Candidates will need to attend interview and audition.
Candidates will have a keen interest and some experience of music making and/or composing. Relevant work experience would also be acceptable.
On this course you will study a range of music, performance and recording subjects including Performing on Instrument or Voice, Live Performance, Composing, MIDI Sequencing Sound Engineering and Production ,as well as music industry marketing and promotion subjects. You will also develop your own Creative Project.

What can I do on completion of my course?
After successful completion of this NC you will be considered for entry to HNC Music programmes within Argyll College, UHI, or other academic providers. You could then continue on to the BA (Hons) in Popular Music deliverd within UHI
If you choose not to continue your studies, the experience gained on the course will assist you find employment in the music industry, within education, private teaching, music performing, composing, studio recording and many other areas where music and creativity are employed
