What is special about this course?

With a focus on Landscaping this NC Horticulture course has been designed to give you experience in many subjects within the Horticultural Landscaping field. From garden design, fencing, laying slabs and paving to planting and maintenance, soil and growing media and estate maintenance you will develop your knowledge and skills through practical work and theoretical application.

    Entry requirements

    There are no specific entry requirements required although a keen interest in horticulture and landscaping  would be an advantage.

    This Landscaping focused version of the NC Horticulture course will include the following areas of study:

    • Garden Design
    • Drystone Dykes: Building and Repair
    • Horticultural Fence Construction
    • Laying Slabs and Paving: An Introduction
    • Estate Maintenance: An Introduction
    • Water Features
    • soils and growing media
    • plant identification
    • plant husbandry – common disorders
    • basic botany
    • planting and maintenance
    • horticultural machinery – operation and maintenance
    • plant nutrition

    How will I study my course?

    • Full Time

    Face to Face and Video conferencing, classroom activities plus practical outdoor activities
